Tuesday, October 16, 2018

Hey, guys! It's been a busy week.

TUESDAY, October 9th: We got a call and helped the same part-member family move once again up to the mountains. They just have his cousin's pick-up truck, so it takes a while. They fed us calamari while we were up in the mountain as well.....And, an English member accepted our invitation to learn.

WEDNESDAY, October 10th: The Flemings and the Risers came and wrecked our apartment. They came to de-junk all the stuff that missionaries leave behind, but we still haven't fully recovered, haha. They are RUTHLESS!!! :) But, we have a fan that now has clear blades...I didn't know they weren’t clear...We had district meeting and the Voice of the Lord survey and then had the ZLs and Elder A. stay with us.

THURSDAY, October 11th: Elder R. and I missed our bus in the morning, so we had two hours of hot and sweaty finding on the beach.  We met a great lady on the bus who is from Russia; she said we make perfect husbands, almost (Ο Νόμος της Αγνότητας).In Larnaca, we went to go see a guy I actually taught the Restoration to on my only exchange with Elder C.. He is really struggling to find work, just like everyone else in Cyprus at the moment. Elders A., F., and VE. all ended up coming to Larnaca in order to help with a personal matter of a member there. Let's just say it was a tiring evening. I sat with the Grovers and translated from Greek to English for an hour and a half while three people were speaking full speed. The gift of tongues was definitely with me. We stayed the night in Larnaca because we missed the last bus out.

FRIDAY, October 12th: We took the first bus back to Limassol and were wrecked from a few days without a lot of sleep, but we were able to get T. some help with some medicine that he needed and saw our friend A. at his shop and spoke quickly with a less-active member.

SATURDAY, October 13th: We helped out at the charity shop because they had no one to come in and help. We saw our Chinese member there, and she is having some struggles because her husband is in China working. We love her so much! We had dinner with N. and that was about it.

SUNDAY, October 14th: We had small numbers again at church, and we watched a session of General Conference. We met up with a former investigator who is from Greece! I love GREEK!!!! He is really cool and wants to learn. We saw the Cypriot parents and had some bonding moments with them. We did a white board in the evening, and two girls from Greece spoke to us for about 20 minutes. They didn't have much interest in the Book of Mormon at first, but after "bearing down in pure testimony against them," they accepted one! It was a pretty cool experience! We also met P., an Indian guy who is a total playboy. The love of his life broke up with him, so he was just walking up to random strangers and saying hi, searching for a new girlfriend, lol.

MONDAY, October 15th: We did our shopping and then headed to the mountains and got stuck there for four hours. Then, we took an adventure with Elder Riser on a quest for ketchup and had a fabulous goodbye meal with the part member family. We also gave out a Book of Mormon to a guy I found doing the Voice of the Lord survey.

TUESDAY, October 16th: We had pancakes with A. as a goodbye to Elder VE. and possibly myself (we get transfer calls on Saturday, hopefully). These are the best pancakes in the world, by the way. We saw T. and said goodbye there as well and suffered from PURE carrot juice (WHAT THE HECK, CYPRUS?). We went to Nuovo and saw Cypriot brother and then had a discussion with some Jehovah's Witnesses at a less-active's home. That was fun.

Pancakes!

Our good-bye tradition!

LOVE YOU ALL!

- Elder Müller
