Merry Christmas!

Elder Müller's family loved seeing him yesterday! We didn't get a letter because of trouble with the internet, but we did receive an email with lots of pictures!

Here are the pictures (as well as some explanation from Elder Müller):

The first ones of the ocean are at Aphrodite's Rock. Hillary (Elder Müller's sister) asked about it last week in her email to me. (Learn more about Aphrodite's Rock here)

The beach was from Christmas morning here in Pafos. There is a huge boat that has been stuck out on the reef for years. These are 5 star hotel resorts that are empty in the winter but full in the summer.

The pizza is from Gino's. He is the other Elder's friend. He treats them like sons, and they get amazing food all the time from them. The pizza is authentic Italiano.

Enjoy random pics of Elder J.

Elder and Sister Sampson are enjoying our gifts to them, slippers from Jumbo (store in Cyprus).

We got each other Disney movies in Greek for Christmas!

Love you all!

Merry Christmas

Love,

Elder Müller

December 18, 2017

Hello!

This week went fast here in Πάφος.

We spent a lot of our week providing service at a horse farm and pulling LOTS of weeds in a garden. I'm talking bushwhacking level weeds. The horses are race horses and are majestic and beautiful. There is a horse with a very bad infection on its leg, and so we take it to the sea to soak in the saltwater.

We were able to teach English class on Wednesday—talk about stressful! The people who come are mostly adults from Russia and Eastern Europe. It is very stressful trying to teach grammar I don't understand myself. I'm more comfortable teaching Greek grammar, LOL!

We met with Mary and Evelyn (names have been changed), and it was lovely. They are going to Latvia for Christmas, so we won't see them for a while. We were able to talk to a kid named Ανδρέας (every Greek or Cypriate is named George or Andreas, BTW!). He had given the missionaries some trouble in the past and very aggressively asked what we were doing. We explained that no, we weren't Jehovah's Witnesses or Jewish or Muslim. We had a 30 minute conversation with him telling him why we leave home and serve for two years. He is very religious and a strong Orthodox member. We invited him to church, but he didn't end up coming. We also visited our landlord again last night. He and his wife are so nice to us. They help us with our Greek and always give us food! They said it is not enough to only call our mothers twice a year. “MUST BE ONCE PER WEEK,” she said! They offered their computers and internet if we ever want to call home, LOL. We haven't been able to contact the man we talked to last Sunday but are hoping to stop by again tonight.

So yeah, we do lots of service and walk up and down the big hills here. It smells like cigarette smoke 24/7, but you get used to it.

Remember that God loves you and guides your life. It is sometimes harder to accept His help than it is to push it away. But, please accept it. We get to see God's hand in every person's life everyday here in the mission field. The comfort that Christ can bring and the love of our Heavenly Father is unmatched. Everybody go read Chapter 12 of Isaiah (2 Nephi 22 as well!).

Υια!
