Note: Part of Elder Müller’s email was written in Greek, without any
translation from him. To help the rest of us who don’t speak or read Greek,
myself included, I’ve included Google Translations in brackets. Please keep this
in mind if there are any inaccuracies in translation, with my full apologies. I’ve
lightly edited the translations in places so they make grammatical sense in
English. If there aren’t translations in brackets immediately following the
Greek, Elder Müller’s next paragraph already is a translation of the same
information.
Γειά σας παιδιά ήτανε μια περιεργη εβδομάδα με ενδιαφέρουσες
συναντήσεις και ραντεβού. [Hello, kids! It was a
curious week with interesting appointments.]
We had a good district
council and then started an exchange with the Elders C. and J. Elder J. and I
came back to Piraeus and searched out addresses of less-active members to see
if they still live there or not. We did a whiteboard with the Egaleo elders and
had gyros for dinner.
We exchanged back and
bought phone data to speak to our families, and while we were buying it, we taught
a lesson to the lads, lol. We had a lesson with an investigator, and it was okay.
And, we got stuck at a bus stop for one hour...
THURSDAY, May 9th: We taught at
the Friendship Center, and we had an appointment with a member, which went very
well. The food was great! ;) We did a whiteboard in Agias Fotinis with the
Agios Dimitrios elders, and that went okay.
FRIDAY, May 10th: We did weekly
planning, and I made awesome hot dogs for lunch. We went with a member to go
visit a lady who knew the missionaries and called us up and wanted us to visit.
That was interesting, to say the least. She and her daughter have an
interesting situation and desires. But, we are hopeful! They don't live in our
area though, so we gave them to the Egaleo elders. We did a whiteboard in
Piraeus and ran into a lady on the way home who hasn't been picking up her
phone.

SATURDAY, May 11th: It was a crazy
day in the mission field for sure. We weren't able to sleep during our nap time
(see the explanation in previous emails about how that is okay) and then went
to lunch with a member quite far away. As we were on the metro going there, a
man started speaking very loudly and eventually got four other people going as
well all talking about "Mormons" and politics. A guy angrily demanded
to know why we don't have girl missionaries but only “tall, white, thin, Americans”
... We were quiet for most of it because they wouldn't let us respond anyways,
and they started going off about the upcoming elections here. [Editor's Note: Elder Müller did nothave time to explain how the any of their replies were received.] We needed to help the Kato Patissia elders find their less-active addresses, and so we went deep into the
middle of nowhere to find these four people that are out of the way and hard to
get to. Google Maps took us up a mountain and yeah.... The videos explain it.
Out in the middle of no where!
Up a mountain to no where!
SUNDAY, May 12th: We had church,
and there was an argument between two investigators during Elders' Quorum... A
friend showed up for English branch even though she is Greek, and so I
translated for her... We had a great meal appointment with a member family in
our area and then went to a whiteboard at Agias Fotinis. I called my mom while
the other guys did the whiteboard.
Sneaky Mama snapped some screenshots from our Mother's Day talk! Gotcha, Elder Muller!
Another Mama screenshot of the unsuspecting Elder Muller!

MONDAY, May 13th: Today, we are
strolling the beach with some other missionaries.
Love you all,

Searching for less actives
Searching for less actives The climb begins...
Still climbing...
Yes, we really came from waaay down there
Looking for lost sheep is hard work
We are getting higher
And now all those steps??
Seriously??
Conquered the steps. We just keep climbing
How high can we go? How far from the city can we go?
I don't think anyone lives out here... Google Maps says we have to go around this side of the mountain to reach our destination!
We reach the top only to find a sign that says we cannot enter!!
Might as well take some nice pictures! Yes, that is Athens in the background!
Downhill is much nicer than uphill!
Yes, that's a pile of garbage
Cool graffiti in the background
Just some of the cool sights on our trek up and down the mountain
