Baptism Again?

Monday, May 20, 2019

Hey, guys! Another warm week has passed in Piraeus.

TUESDAY, May 14th: We had a good district council, and then I had an exchange with Elders H. and Z. in Piraeus. Elder Z. has a good relationship with a less-active member here who hasn't wanted contact for a while, but we were able to go over, and it was great. The appetizers she fed us were incredible as well.

WEDNESDAY, May 15th: We got Indian gyros to celebrate the end of the exchange. As Elder F. and I were returning home, we forgot to get off at the right stop on the metro, so we decided to walk to the next stop on the correct line and find the reason why we forgot to get off! We run into a member couple, and so yeah, faith brings miracles. We had an absolutely incredible lesson with R., and he asked loads of important questions. Our relationship is definitely getting stronger and gaining more trust.

THURSDAY, May 16th: We went in the morning with the sisters to bring a member some cookies and let her know that we love her. We had pizza for lunch and did weekly planning. We met with a guy who I met last week, and his friend came along as well. We chilled at the end of a pier and talked about life and beliefs. He played and sang along to his guitar, and it was one of those cool mission moments that you never forget.

FRIDAY, May 17th: We taught at the Friendship Center, and we went to Megaro Moussikis so that Elder F. could do the baptismal interviews with S. and R.

SATURDAY, May 18th: We went to a member's home to help with the FSY application for her son, and she surprised us by making amazing food, two hours after we had just eaten a gyro... We went with our friend R. to the baptism of S. and R., and I got to baptize S.! It was a very cool experience, and I was honored that he chose me to perform the ordinance for him. He truly has a desire to be obedient to the commandments because he is happier when he is!

SUNDAY, May 19th: We brought M. to church in Megaro Moussikis (we are starting a new Greek group there for less-active members and investigators who live long distances from the building in Halandri) and then went to Halandri and found an American guy visiting who was on his way to church. We helped to confirm S. and R., and it was a good Sunday with lots of running around getting things organized. After church, we had studies and then an okay whiteboard in Syntagma.

MONDAY, May 20th: We chilllllled all day long in the apartment. I managed to get another layer of grime off of the bathtub, and there is almost no brown on one section now! #win

So yeah, that's about it for this week. Summer is ramping up, and we are in the 20s from dawn till dusk now [Editor’s note: About the 70s in Fahrenheit.]. Oh, something I forgot to mention—God answered my unspoken prayers, and there was a smoothie blender at Lidl today and was only 20 euros. Guess who is going back on his smoothie diet for the summeeeeeer, boooooooooois? Sister Finlayson, if you read this, I promise I will stay more balanced this year! :) Love you! ;)

Have a good week, guys.
