Hello everybody,
This week it went from
perfect weather to bitter cold and rain. Don't worry, Mother, yes, I am warm
enough, and no, I haven't melted from the rain.
This week went by
quickly, and we were pretty busy for the most part. On Tuesday, we
had a late District Meeting because our District leader got "Cypriot Bus
Syndrome," or in other words, the bus decided to just not show up at the
bus stop they were at. So, they got there an hour late. We had a good district
meeting, and I think we are becoming more unified as we get to know each other
more. We also got to have a short meet up with A., our friend from Syria. Unfortunately,
he isn't really interested in the Gospel.
Wednesday, we
spent all day with G.; he is a former investigator who only believes in the
Bible and knows a ton about it, lol. We had the pleasure of pulling out soggy,
wet leaves from gravel. It was actually not that bad, haha, and we had a great
lunch of baked potatoes the size of a squash with beans, corn, tuna, and
cheese. It was sooo good. We had a lot of Bible discussions with him, and I
learned stuff from him. And, he learned that miracles don't cause faith and
must be preceded by faith instead.
Thursday, we had
a great weekly planning session and were inside for most of the day because it
was pouring outside. We went out to try to find some former investigators, but
they had moved. Cyprus is creepy as all get out at night, by the way. The
street where they were supposed to live was all black, with cats jumping out of
dumpsters and scurrying through the shadows. Old fashioned shutters were
smacking against the side of the building, and there was one source of light on
the whole street, haha.
Friday, we had
service and had the best gyros to date. We also had English class with E. for
the first time in a month. She is still as awesome as ever.
Saturday was a
very busy day, haha. We had all of our studies in the morning and then went to
go Football Finding. Three weeks in a row now it has flopped, so I don't think
we will be doing it again anytime soon. So. the Samsons gave us a ride home,
and we showered and got ready for our appointment with M. It went really
well, and she agreed to start taking lessons again. So, we are very excited
about that.
Sunday, we had
R. in church again and tried to have a lesson with her in Hindi (skype with
Hindi sisters that are serving in England), but she couldn't make it. Otherwise,
it was a normal Sabbath with church (I gave a talk...shhhhh, don't tell Mother,
or she'll ask me to tell her what I spoke about) and lunch with the Samsons.
Honestly, no offense to anybody, but I am pretty sure that Sister Samson was
the executive chef in the pre-earth life. Like, I never want to leave Paphos
simply because I don't think anything could ever compare to her cooking.
Today should be movies
in Greek and possibly a haircut for Elder J. Tonight, we find out who
our new mission president will be in July. :(
Well, Love, Peace, and
Chicken Grease, as my friend Robert used to say.
