Okay, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Boys and Girls, it's time for another weekly email from the City of Catholic
service projects and broken weed-whackers.
This has been a very
long week, and we are exhausted but enthusiastic.
MONDAY: We created a
story line for a TV show on the way to the Sampson's house. Don't ask. I'm
pretty sure the heat is starting to affect our brains (hopefully that is the
correct use of affect and not effect, ask Hillary, guys) [Editor’s note (aka
Hillary): Yes, it is. 😊 “Affect is the verb form, and “effect” is the
noun. Good work, Elder Müller!]. We also had a BBQ at the B. family's house
with the branch, and it was a lot of fun. (We had Elder A. in a trio with Elder
J. and me.)

TUESDAY: We all went
up P.'s Hill to play basketball with him. It was pretty embarrassing. None of
us could make a basket for the longest time! I was getting pretty good in the
MTC and used to be able to sink three pointers, believe it or not. We did some service
at the charity shop and did a quick shopping run before Elder R. arrived the
next day. We had an appointment with the P. family (Elder Sampson gave us a ride
there) and gave a family home evening lesson to them. We kept it short due to
our one-hour rule that we have for visits. But, it went well. Their home is
very far away, and we needed to walk back for about an hour, all uphill. I had
some pretty cool moments on the walk back. I just felt the joy of being on a
mission and that feeling of knowing you are experiencing things that you will
never forget.
WEDNESDAY: Elder J.
left at 7 AM, and so it was just me and Elder A. in all of Paphos
today #therealkingsofPaphos. We walked to Kato Paphos and met with one of Elder A's friends for an hour. Then, we ate some lunch at his apartment (Elder A’s apartment)
and headed back up to my area. We cleaned for three or four hours from top to
bottom. The apartment was gross. We went to the bus station and picked up Elder
R. and immediately went to church to prepare for language classes. Oh, I almost
forgot, Elder A. and I made French fries and brought some for Elder R. They
were amazing.

THURSDAY: We did a seven-hour
service project for the Catholic Church here in Paphos. We cleared chest-high
weeds in a fifty-foot path. I don't have pictures now, but I will get them
eventually. It was for part of the Passion Play that we are acting in. We
cleared a path and Golgatha—so much work, lol. His first day in Paphos, and
Elder R. is already smashing it. A lady was walking past us and speaking
German. Elder R., being the beast that he is, just starts speaking German to
her, and we ended up giving her a Book of Mormon in Greek!!!!!!!!! She is from
Cyprus but also speaks perfect German. Miracles are real. (Elder R. is from Switzerland and speaks German.)
FRIDAY: We went and
weeded our friend's garden again, and the weeds were chest high! We made two
new friends while walking to church and practiced SYL (Speak Your Language) A
LOT. It is very helpful, and I can see my Greek already improving. We had a
great English Class with E. and then went to do service for a friend from
Greek Class. He invited all the other missionaries over as well.
SATURDAY: We did
service at the horse ranch for the first time with Elder R. In his old area,
they have a lot of investigators and spend most of their time at appointments.
The shift to doing soooo much service is very big for him, but he is a champ
and doesn't complain at all. We have been praying to find a Filipino to teach,
specifically a Filipino because they always know all the other Filipinos in the
city. As we were walking to football, we met a lady who is a born-again
Christian and gave us her Facebook information so we can connect with her. Prayers are answered! Football was only okay
today because the comedians didn't come. We still had a lot of people, and an eight-year-old
kid who plays like a pro. I'm not kidding; he was better than everyone. It was
Elder C.'s birthday today, and the Heders happened to be an hour away. So, they
came and had pizza with us at Gino's!!!! It is always our favorite thing when we
get to see President and Sister Heder. We ordered four larges and one small
pizza. We ate it all, plus dessert. And, you all wonder why I'm getting fat!
The food is heaven here. I also got my bike from Larnaca. It still isn't
repaired completely, so it will be a little bit before we can actually use our
bikes. Walking is terrible.
SUNDAY: Elder R. gave
a welcome talk and spoke about his mother. It was Mother's Day in the U.K. on March 11th. He
smashed it, like usual. We went finding and met a really sweet lady from Sri
Lanka who lives here with her husband, E., and her eight-year-old son. We are
excited to go back and talk to them. We also met family who are Jehovah's
Witnesses. They were so warm and friendly and gave us food. We shared our
feelings of mutual respect for our religions and were on our way. We had the
Passion Play rehearsal, and we love how inaccurate some traditions are. Elder R.
was pretty uncomfortable, haha. We delivered some Mother's Day gifts with the
Sampsons and shared a short spiritual thought with the B. family. It was Elder
R. and my first time co-teaching. It was pretty good, and our synergy was on
point.
That's about it for my
week, guys! Prayers are answered, and miracles are so real. Elder R. and I are
going to SMASH IT this transfer. We are going to have the best Greek, the best
investigators, and the best time here in Pano Paphos! IT'S LIT!
Love you all and miss
you.
Σας αγαπάω!!!!
